Mike Kapetanakis has been named Senior Team Captain for the remainder of the season. Mike continually demonstrates leadership by example through his attendance, as a student, as well as his leadership during competitions and practice (even when injured). He has been a constant positive force with the Dolphins for 4 seasons. Congratulations Mike on your outstanding leadership.

Dolphin Duals Event

Ocean Lakes had a very successful Saturday, December 8th in the Dolphin Duals The team went 4-1 and finished 2nd for the first time in 4 years. The outstanding wrestler was Paul Moye with a 5-0 record, 7-0 season record and leads the team with 6 falls. Other outstanding performances were contributed by 103-Shane Ulfig 4-1, 112-Allen Harcourt 4-1, 125/130-Kyle Robertson, 135-Mike Kapetanankis 3-1, 160-shared by Brandon Meeks and Brandon Burmeister going 4-1 and 215-Ryan Sparling 4-1.

Dolphin Wrestlers and other sports.

Currently, several members of the team play other sports with Kyle Robertson on Baseball, and Paul Moye, Ryan Sparling, James Rainey, Andrew Makowski, all playing football. The team had a great season finishing 8-3 to the state playoff series. championship playoff series. Go Dolphins!! Several new freshman are also playing football and volleyball who will contribute well to the Dolphin wrestling program. Those new freshman members are Josh Mann, Jacob Coleman and Murphy Simerson.

Summer Camp

The 2007-08 Dolphin Wrestling began with summer camp at Virginia Tech. Prior to camp the team gathered for a week getting ready for a new season. With teams from Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, North Carolina, Virginia and Georgia, the Dolphins finished with a 6-5 record. This was a great start considering we only had 11 team members (1 senior) and filled only 9 weights. The extra wrestlers drafted from other teams did not provide enough wrestling power to finish a little higher in the dual meet competition.
