Coaching History:
In 1994, the first first team was lead by Head Coach Jack Harcourt (formerly from Green Run HS) and assisted by John Gammon. In 1995, Bob Lint joined the staff as an Assistant Coach and served the team in that position for 11 years until 2006. In 1996, Wayne Gibson took over the Head Coaching position until 1998. Jack Harcourt returned to the Head Coaching position in 1998 with Wayne Gibson as an assistant along with John Wilson and Bob Lint. Wayne returned as the Head Coach in 2000 and retired in 2001 to enter the private business sector. Rob Barlow (Coach from Maury HS and a Kempsville Grad) assumed the Head Coaching position in 2002 until 2004. In 2004, Rob accepted the Head Coaching position with crosstown rival, Kempsville, and Jack Harcourt returned once again as the Head Coach. In 2006 with Bob Lint's retirement, Coach Harcourt looked hard for a quality coaching replacement. Coach Lint was a constant mainstay behind the team during the developing years, and was an instrumental part in developing "The Dolphin Way" of wrestling tradition. Fortunately, 2 former members of the great team of 2000 became interested in being part of the coaching staff. We are fortunate to have former OLHS State Champion Travis Ferguson (2000) and teammate Andy Filipowicz (2001) join our staff. Beginning this season we will also add another Assistant Coach, Josh Mattocks Class of 2007 and Justin Hoover Class of 2006. Both are 2 time All-State Team members.
